Morningside
Morningside is an affluent, intown neighborhood developed in the 1920s. Historic homes, as well as new construction, fill its tree-lined streets.
There is plenty of established greenspace and parks in Morningside, the most prominent of which is Smith Park, with its fountain, pond, fish and aquatic plants. Wilson Park and Sydney Marcus Park are also nearby. For your shopping needs, you can visit the Morningside Shopping Center or the Highland Park Shopping Center.
In 1996, prior to the Olympics, the Morningside community developed an extensive walking tour to showcase its beauty and history. Accompanying the tour is a plethora of facts about important homes in the area; shopping and dining options; historical markers; and the community’s best recreational areas and parks. You can access this information from the Morningside / Lenox Park Association’s official website.
Since 1995, residents and those willing to attend have acquired the area’s freshest foods from the Morningside Farmer’s Market. It is still in operation today.
