Collier Hills is considered a Buckhead community that is rich in architecture, nature and history. Some of the most bitter fighting during the Civil War took place on the grounds of what is now an affluent, stable metro Atlanta neighborhood. The area takes its name from Mr. Collier, his homestead and his grist mill, which was once situated on the banks of Tanyard Creek.
Memorial Park, Bobby Jones Golf Course and Tanyard Creek Park surround the Collier Mills community. There is a top-rated dog park, a playground and plenty of trails for exploring. Although conveniently located near the city of Atlanta, Collier Hills offers residents a rural, private feel.
Collier Hills real estate is impressive with homes hovering around the $500,000 dollar range. You will find Cape Cod cottages and wooded lots in Collier Hills North and various types of single family dwellings throughout the remainder of the area.
Collier Hills is also one of Atlanta’s Neighborhood Planning Units.
