Buckhead

Buckhead is a city comprised of several neighborhoods, 42 on Atlanta’s northern edge to be exact. The city’s official website offers descriptions of Buckhead neighborhoods, their real estate offerings and details explaining what draws Atlanta residents to this desirable area. One excellent quote from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that Buckhead is “Where old money lives [and] new money parties.” On many accounts, this is true. The area has been affluent throughout the majority of its history, but the flow of retail, business and entertainment to the area over the years has pumped fresh funds into the city’s veins.

There are stunning estates and multimillion dollar properties, as well as condominium units, an endless number of apartment complexes and temporary housing – furnished, short-term living spaces such as Buckhead Garden Suites and Manor at Buckhead. There are also several housing options for senior citizens, including elegant, high-rise assisted living communities.

What draws a lot of people to Buckhead, however, is the dazzle of the city. There are tall, glimmering office buildings and high-rises; innumerable, fashionable bars and clubs; tons of art galleries and theaters; several glitzy hotels; and an unbelievable number of shopping venues – between Lenox, Peachtree and Piedmont, shopaholics can peruse nearly 1,500 stores. Plenty of Atlanta’s best restaurants call the Buckhead area home, too.

While great for getting out on the town, Buckhead also offers its residents parks – including Chastain Memorial and several, smaller neighborhood green spaces – civic / neighborhood associations, volunteer opportunities, churches and wonderful educational outlets.
